Kozhikode: Baby Memorial Hospital (BMH), Kozhikode has launched a dedicated Centre for Parkinson’s & Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) to provide advanced care for patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. The centre was officially launched by Poornima Raja, COO, Baby Memorial Hospital Kozhikode, in the presence of Dr. Sujith Ovullath, Senior Consultant – Neurology, Dr. Abdu Salam K, Senior Consultant – Neurology, Dr. Arun Mathew, Deputy CMS & Senior Consultant – Internal Medicine, Dr Ummer K, Chief & Senior Consultant, Neurology, Dr.Sivakumar T, Senior Consultant – Neurosurgery, and Dr. Pradeep Kumar V G, Senior Consultant – Neurology.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sujith Ovullath said, “Parkinson’s disease can significantly affect a person’s quality of life, but timely diagnosis and advanced treatments like Deep Brain Stimulation can help patients regain independence and improve daily functioning. Through this centre, we aim to offer comprehensive and specialized care for patients across the region.”
Multidisiplinary team including neuropsychologist, physiotherapist, speach therapist and dietician will be acessing the patient in parkinsons and deep brain stimulation clinic.
The newly launched centre will offer advanced diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and DBS procedures, further strengthening BMH’s neurological care services in North Kerala.
